This fix enhances the bootstrap process by allowing interaction in scripts. If the bootstrap script has a read... command, it now works just fine.

I'm interested in reviewing this PR. (I just recently adjusted the stale bot so I have more control over it). I'm unable to reopen the PR, as you deleted your fork/branch. Consider recreating it. Thanks.
