In some consoles it's possible to capture the console IO and redirect it to a network connection. This feature adds functionality to platforms that call shells like Python or Node JS. This would not be a replacement to Doorway as this will not handle DOS direct memory writes. But maybe possible to redirect DOS if the application uses standard console in NTVDM.
