Things like the secret santa sign-up, the mspaint collab, competitions, anything that needs member participation could be kept on the view new posts list so people like me who use that link regularly don't forget about them.

pretty good suggestion. Likely requires some code edits since I don't think there's a way to do it by default, but there's probably a mod out there for it?
