Summary

We need a lesson to introduce students to what unit testing is and how to unit test simple query methods.

Hi Kevin! My name is mikhail from TOP's Discord. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to contribute to Rewriting the testing section of the Ruby course.

I'd love to work on this issue, or any other that still needs to be finished for the Testing Rewrite Project.

Hey @mgrigoriev8109, thanks for reaching out. My idea was to have an example that students would code along to starting with this lesson and continued with these lessons https://github.com/TheOdinProject/top-meta/issues/10, https://github.com/TheOdinProject/top-meta/issues/11.

Coming up with something that fit all the criteria to cover all of the topics taught in those three lessons was trickier than I initially thought. I had some ideas but then got busy with other TOP projects last year 😅

I have some time off over the next couple of weeks and was planning on reviving this project. Between the content in these lessons and the exercises for all the other new content, there is for sure still plenty to do. I'd definitely appreciate your help. I'll reach out on Discord after I get some time to reorient myself with the project if that's good with you?
