Flashing / using ESP12F or ESP-01? Or sources for ppp available?

Hi, I've tried

• an ESP-01 with "theoldnet_serial_wifi_ppp.bin": I can connect and use the AT commands but it takes some ATC1 to successful connect to wifi and it stores no settings at nvram (after powercycling I've to start again with configuring)
• now I've tried an ESP12F, it flashes ok but booting stops at the time of text output at 300 kbps (every enter tries to put the boot text again, but stops) It's possible to get a compiled .bin for ESP-01 (I need the small form factor) or to get the sources (if .ino ?) You have an idea why I've problems? Thank's! I'd like to connect a vintage PalmIII via MAX3232 and PPP to wifi...

EDIT: Sorry, found the .ino at another repo and compiled it successfull. Now trying it at ESP-01.
