Same issue on my end. Is anyone working on a fix?

ferllings commented 5 months ago

Sorry, there is no fix for that, you need to install the update manually.

cholloway008 commented 5 months ago

The version we are installing is the latest version?

ferllings commented 5 months ago

Your current version is probably 3.5.2, trying to install 3.5.3, which not signed with the same Name

cholloway008 commented 5 months ago

Currently we are also experiencing installing 3.5.2 which is the version being hosted on the TPGi download site (https://www.tpgi.com/color-contrast-checker/)

Is there any way to disable the auto update functionality in the 3.5.2 package.

ferllings commented 5 months ago

Again, you need to install 3.5.3 manually: https://github.com/ThePacielloGroup/CCAe/releases/tag/v3.5.3

cholloway008 commented 5 months ago

Thank you for your time, I will give this a go.

@ferllings Which of the files should I download in order to get 3.5.3 installed manually? I've never downloaded from GitHub before. Also, why do we need to do this manually? Why can't 3.5.3 be the version hosted on the TPGi site for Colour Contrast Analyser?

ferllings commented 4 months ago

@MattMac123 you need to download this file: https://github.com/ThePacielloGroup/CCAe/releases/download/v3.5.3/CCA-Setup-x64-3.5.3.exe

CCA was never hosted on TPGi website it's just a link to github, and they probably forgot to update it. I'll see if I can get someone to update it.

The reason you have to do that manually is because we renewed our signing certificate, but I didn't noticed that they changed the certificate owner at the same time. And the CCA updater don't recognize the new version because of this difference.

MattMac123 commented 4 months ago

@ferllings Thank you! That explains my confusion, then. Updating now.

We are having this same issue with the staff members that have the CCA installed.

It failed few says ago on the update, and even if we uninstall the old version and try to install manually the laltes 3.5.4 version, it keeps on failing.

It looks like it is leaving behind some trace of the previous versions and not validating the new one due tot he certificate change.

Any idea on how we can make a fresh install of the latest 3.5.4 version?

ferllings commented 2 months ago

@xaltube could you clarify exactly where/how it fails?
