Feedback - requested new principle for efficiency #33

I'd love an additional principle having to do with making the interface efficient to use for everyone. You imply this in a couple of spots, but I think it would really help to call it out with a couple of examples. This principle is regularly violated when it comes to tab order/tab stops. With many interfaces either items aren't grouped in a logical order or there are tab stops for so many items, that using the tab key to find an item of interest is impractical. A few well-chosen hotkeys can really speed the process of completing interactive tasks. (GG)

In my original principles at BBC I used to talk about 'Keeping focused'. We had some discussion about this and decided to nix the principles #8 and merge it with #11 Prioritise content.

Looking at 'Keep focused' now there are elements that touch on what Glen said that we could revisit. Perhaps we can address this better in the description in Prioriise content and the examples. I like this description that did the rounds on Twitter:

Minimal viable interaction "Create the minimum viable interaction by providing the most valuable info as early as possible. @feather #a11y #aeasf” Jeffry Zeldman.

We've updated the description for "Provide a comparable experience", so the last sentence reads:

As people use different approaches and tools to read and operate interfaces, what the interface offers each user should be comparable in value, quality, and experience.>

I've looked through the principles and can't think of anywhere else to add efficiency (without it feeling like we've crammed it in just because). Putting it into the Provide comparable experience principle feels like the right fit.
