@iheni I was told that Adrian was responsible for hosting. The content is static, making it trivial to host, but I would need SSH access (or similar) to move the files. Given my patchy internet access at the moment, I would suggest the following as a quick-and-dirty hosting solution:
gh-pages
branch (whoever is responsible for the hosting and has SSH access or similar)I am responsible for hosting? Who said that? Cool!
So, um, do we have a server ready to go for the site? If so, does anyone have the FTP creds? I am happy to FTP stuff into place.
Done a bit of digging. The domain name is pointing at the registrar. I will dig some more to confirm where we are hosting so I can get the nameservers pointing to the right place and get the host ready to, well, host.
Working under assumption that this will be hosted on the DreamHost farm (where our other sites are), so I have made the nameserver change. They now point to: NS1.DREAMHOST.COM NS2.DREAMHOST.COM NS3.DREAMHOST.COM
Update...
inclusivedesignprinciples.org now has a placeholder page. The placeholder page is just a chunk of text saying "Coming soon" with the TPG favicon. That was also how I confirmed SFTP access. Expect DNS propagation to take some time as it just happened and the TTL on the records is hours.
Some notes:
(added spaces above since GitHub was auto-inserting links)
There is no HTTPS yet. We should circle back on that. The contractor says the Let's Encrypt cert will raise warning due to a mis-match in the URL and domain and I do not have time to wade into that any further (and do not have access to the back-end).
@Heydon, will you be able to post the files (via SFTP) or do you need a hand doing that?
Following that, we can post the files whenever and just not make an index.html. Are issues still rolling in that will be addressed and/or is there a cut-off for issues?
Finally and not important for the laumch, but I would still like to know who told you I was responsible for hosting. I want to clean up this process and part of it is understanding what others see as the process.
@aardrian If there's a site folder I can SSH to, great. I will need credentials, obviously.
Not sure who told me you were the Domains/hosting tzar. Apologies for the unexpected work if you are not!
@aardrian Thank you so much for pitching in yesterday, you are an absolute star. Closing this out.
you're welcome :p
Ahhh, sorry @patrickhlauke , I'm half asleep today. Thank you thank you. You too are a super star.
