Disconnects from FICS on opening chess board

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Starting a game (examine, playgame, makes no difference)
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Lots of (Unknown Source) errors.  Disconnects from server rather than showing a 
game.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system and
what environment?
OS X 10.5.8, PowerPC G4 1.33Ghz, Raptor version .98u3f5

Please provide any additional information below.
Tried both the 32-bit 10.5 and the Carbon 10.4 applications and the result is 
exactly the same.
