Launch problems Ubuntu 14.04 #786

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. click Ubuntu quick launch icon for Raptor in order to launch Raptor
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

After launching via the quick luanch icon, Reptor starts up, but the window
closes down after a few seconds. Launching raptor via console command seems to
work, Raptor launches immediately.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system and
what environment?

Ubuntu 14.04

Please provide any additional information below.

Error message after using quick launch icon:
(Raptor:4398): GLib-GObject-WARNING **:
/build/buildd/glib2.0-2.40.2/./gobject/gclosure.c:688: unable to remove
uninstalled invalidation notifier: 0x78e2cff0 (0x73d096b8)

Hello,

I don't have an ubuntu environment available for testing, so I have no idea
what went wrong there. Also, there are just too many unknowns regarding your
environment (e.g. did it work before? did you install raptor with an installer?
how many bits is your environment etc.)

Regarding GLIB messages: apparently there are so many of them (even when
everything seems to be working fine) that I just ignore them for the time being
(until they come up with a more sane way of logging *real* problems...)

If the commandline works for you, I suggest you use that method? And you may
even create a script to launch Raptor for you with a simple mouseclick?

Regards.

Hi,

I tried again launching via command line, unfortunately the same problem as
with the quick lanuch icon, it takes 4 to 5 times (sometimes even more) until
Raptor finally launches.

Some additional information:
Installation: Right click on Raptor deb-package and installing via Ubuntu
Software Center
System: Ubuntu 14.04 32bit

I will try to dig a bit deeper,

best regards

Bam
