Just realised the backend has stopped working at 10.33 this morning giving an error while trying to generate Task Revoked Notification. So I have restarted the backend. Looking into the cause of the error now.
Has it stopped working again?
I altered project deadlines yesterday afternoon at around 3. I only receieved the notification this morning.
The last notification email we recieved was at 04:18 this morning. Has it stopped again? @aquascene
The backend is running but there seems to be a backlog of emails. I received a notification a few minutes ago.
Myself or Paulina haven't received any, not even the user score calculation ones.
On the log there is a Task Claim Notification for Alison that shows as successfully sent at 11:42am. We can confirm that emails are reaching gmail and UL email accounts. The problem could be on your end with therosettafoundation.org email address.
I haven't claimed anything today. We're getting all other emails without any problems, so I don't see how it can be an issue on our end.
I've just checked the configuration settings here and they have not changed. The backend is running fine and reporting that things are being sent successfully, so this will require further investigation.
Is there anything we can do on this end?
As everything checks out fine on this end it might be a problem with HostIreland. There were some error codes present in the output log that suggests it may be that therosettafoundation.org has been blacklisted due to spam. The best thing to do is email HostIreland to see if they have blacklisted emails from Trommons to you.
I just contacted Host Ireland and nothing is blacklisted. They have a list of all notification emails coming through and the person I spoke to said there has been no attempt of one since after 4 this morning. He said it's not a problem on their end but on the end of the server sending the emails.
@AlisonTRF Until we further investigate this issue, I have added a gmail account to the admin email list (in the backend) which can be used to monitor backend generated emails. I will send the account details soon.
We're receiving them ok again now, but I still think it should be looked into more. Thanks :)
I've checked the gmail account and notifications are being sent, but we aren't receiving them. HostIreland said it's not on their end.
We're still looking into this but can't find any reason for it on our end yet.
Have you checked the Mail Server running on the Rack server? You should be able to turn on logging and see if it is being sent correctly or not.
I just checked the gmail account and the last notification was sent 21 hours ago. Has the backend stopped? @aquascene @Wasala
We're looking into this now. The backend is working but all mails seem to be stuck due to errors.
The email server is running fine, so the problem must be with the backend programme.
@AlisonTRF We are going to restart the backend.

@AlisonTRF We've restarted the backend and it seem to work fine. But we will need to monitor the log to see how it will respond.

The same issue appears to be happening again. Everything shows up as working fine but the emails are not sending. I will restart the backend again.
What errors are you getting?
6 new projects were created over the weekend. We only received emails for 2. Is there a backlog again?
