We have many haphazard outreach efforts cobbled together for BOINC including:
Reddit and social media posting
Reaching out to researchers/universities
It would be nice to sit down and come up with a roadmap for this, and a list of of ongoing outreach tasks. These would be particularly good for volunteers. For example: commenting on relevant news stories on reddit, sharing news from projects on relevant social media pages, reaching out to disease research/support groups to let them know about relevant projects. But we need some way to coordinate these.
A few people working on this a few hours a week could bring BOINC many new users, especially if we gave them access to promotional tools, disease support groups particularly come to mind here as they would be enthusiastic disciples of BOINC's potential.
For some of the smaller tasks, particularly "post to this subreddit about this thing once a month" or "find posts mentioning this topic and respond with this comment" etc could be a task list which automatically regenerates. Idk a good tool for this though.
