Connection attempt fails. #357

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enter valid account creds.
2. Tap Connect.
3.

What is the expected output?
Expect to connect to the Jabber account.

What do you see instead?
"Invalid username or password." Connection fails.

Additional informations:
Phone model: Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Android 4.2.2

This happened w/ accounts on two different services. In both cases, I was able 
to connect using the creds in other XMPP apps.

I assume that you have correctly enter your password :)
Which login are you using ? "bob@domain.com" or "bob"? 
Do you have manual settings?
On which domain? Gmail.com, jabber.org, ... ?

The domains I tried were tigase.im and dukgo.com. I do not have manual settings.

Same problem here with a Gmail account specially created for.

Google sends me an email at every attempt to inform me they have blocked the 
connection.

Nexus 4 / GTalkSMS 4.4.5

If you receive an email it's probably due to a wrong password.
Do you have more logs or maybe provide me this account for testing (if 
dedicated to GTalkSMS after changing the password)

Thanks for the information.
Indeed Google has decided to remove the old authentication workflow in order to 
force the usage of the 2 way authentication. 
So if you don't use the 2 way auth, you need to enable this setting on your 
google account.
