I don't like the stripes visualization. Maybe put card board sign on top with 100, 200, 500, ... imprint.
If someone can get a pic with different coloured lights, that would be nice, I tried but didn't look right.
Yea the stripes don't look good here, I'm sure someone can do them 100 x better. I just did a quick example. I wouldn't put a sign on top as you can then only place them at a single angle. If someone places the crate side ways then you wouldn't see the sign anymore. I tried a small attempt at the imprint on the box to get an idea.
Also here are the original sizes of the crates.
You could use the standardised loot tier colour scheme present in many modern games.
Most loot-driven games adopted the same color-coding hierarchy used by Diablo, where white/grey was used for common items, green for uncommon, blue for rare, purple for legendary, and then some variation of orange, yellow, or gold to denote the highest tier. The quality of loot often scales with the tiers but not always.
Love it! We could even add in another colour for $500 that means (if we want to of course).
I like the colours idea
The lights look good, think being able to differentiate them is important.
Agree with the lighting, perhaps you can do that if you select them the money amount within will display similar to other tooltips / descriptions?
Easier than trying to see how much your money increases. So you can learn whichcolor is what amount
Put a mini Flag with the amount?
Currently all Money Crates look identical, some RANKed maps have $100, $200 and $1000 crates. The crate on the right is a $100 crate, then a $200, $1000, $1500 and $2500.
We could do a few things if we go with this:
