China's Gatling Tower Defense is expensive #896

Here an overview:

It is a good and useful defensive structure, however with China being in need of buffs, would streamlining it other factions be fair?

Would first need to prove that Gatling Cannon is overpriced. It is not clear to me from the given data. I suggest to compare the weapons and other parameters to determine a logical fair value.

Would be hard (or not even useful) to make the comparison through raw data.

Laser Patriots and EMP's both perform better, vs a wider array of unit types (as well as structures).

I think $1000 would be justified and gives China better defensive capabilities from an economical standpoint. China relies quite a bit on static defense, since it's mobility is significantly worse than the other factions.

Infantry wouldn't profit much since it already got superior Bunkers.

I believe it is an inferior idea to skip studying data just because it is hard or not assumed useful. The defenses can be compared in Damages vs classes of Things, Attack Ranges, Armor, Build Time and maybe other parameters. Once such comparison exists, it will become easier to reason about their value given their strengths.

This research is also needed to present a rationale to players who want to review our changes. If we cannot provide that, then a given change has no backing and can be freely argued against with inferior opinions.

The price is sort of linked with the Helix and Overlord Gatling upgrades. I know we don't necessarily have to stick with that, but that's a thing. Same is true for Bunker and Speaker Tower.

We should review that later when we've finished the china buffs that are more essential.
