App crash on launch #194

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install.
2. Open file.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The app immediatly crash and show an alert with the text "l5rcm has encountered
a fatal error, and will now terminate."

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I tried downloading many versions of the app, from the latest (3.8.2) to (3.5).
All had the same results. I'm on a 2007 10.5.8 OSX Macbook white, 2.2Ghz Intel
Core2Duo.

Please provide any additional information below.
I believe the attached files will help a little more.

I believe the problem is that you're using an old version of OSX that uses an
even older Python version. Probably IOS 10.6 is the lowest we can support.

Derrick, can you help here?

Well, I believe your previous comment probably answered it. I believe my mac
doesn't support Snow Leopard, but I'll test it in another machine and come back.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I was away from a computer. Oppifjellet is
more than likely right, it more than likely has to do with how 10.5 interacts
with python and QT. The only downside is that unless your willing to load
python and everything else and then run it from the code so that I can get a
event log I really have no way to track down the error.

I personally use it on OS X 10.8 and I have talked to other users that have
used it on 10.7. But there was some major changes in how the OS ran between os
x 10.5 and 10.6. But with the specs you put up you should be able to at least
run 10.7.
