PDF Export does not work on OS10.7.5 w/ version 3.9 #209

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. With character open, select export pdf
2. Select a filename and location
3. then nothing happens!

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected out put is a pdf file saved to my computer. Instead, I get no pdf 
anywhere on my computer.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using version 3.9 on Mac OS10.7.5
