TheTemportalist / MorphAdditions

MorphActions' intention is to create abilities for morphed players to trigger, up until the time comes when Morph inherently provides this functionality.

TheTemportalist commented 9 years ago

Do you want to, oh I don't know, provide the crash log?! Haha, that's the only way you are going to get help here.

etrotta commented 9 years ago

I have been going back and forth with one of my players via our Help Desk regarding this issue. It was first reported as a 'Client Crash', upon receiving further information, this was not the case. Listed below are the particulars to the issue.

Q: Is this a one time issue, or can it be reproduced? A: It can be reproduced 100% of the time, however the conditions under which this issue occurs are very particular

Q: Does this issue happen in every World/Dimension? A: Yes, the issue reproduces regardless of the Dimension, (this includes default Dimensions such as the End and Nether, as well as Dimensions created by mods (i.e. Twilight Forest), and plugin based worlds, (i.e. from Multiverse)

Q: Under what conditions does this issue occur? A: a) This seems to be related only to Single Player or Single Player LAN worlds b) The issue seems to only occur if the user is Morphed, and attempting to use a PROJECTIVE based additional feature (i.e. a Ghast's fireball) c1) This does not crash the client, but rather the world the user is in c2) The crash seems to only effect the player who attempted to trigger the function of the Morph (this is of course not the case, if the user triggering the Morph function, is the host of a LAN word) c3) The world does not corrupt, but rather just terminate connection with the following message: "A fatal error has occurred, this connection is terminated" After the user has cleared the error screen and returned to the Main menu or Single Player World Selection Screen, they are able to reconnect to the previously selected world with no issues

Q: What version of Morph are you using? A: Morph Beta 0.9.1

Q: What version of Morph Additions are you using? A: 1.7.10-0.0.9

Q: What version of Minecraft are you using? A: 1.7.10

Q: What version of Forge are you running? A: 10.13.3.1403 (OFFICIAL BUILD)

Q: Has you tested to see if this issue can be reproduced in older versions of Morph and/or Morph Additions? A: No (Morph), No (Morph Additions)

I apologize for quite the lengthy post, but having worked on a Help Desk for just over a decade now, I felt that providing as much information as possible would (in hope) make finding a solution a little easier. I do not allow user posting on my Help Desk to simply report 'It's Broke', so I hold myself in the same high standard of forwarding as much information as I am able to collect. Please let me know if I can provide any further details on the matter, or if you would like any testing done to further check against future issues.

As always, thanks in advance and any/all help is appreciated!

This is especially helpful. It sounds like it might be a packet issue. I will have to update the entirety of Morph Additions soon, but will see if I can track down this bug when I next get a chance to code. (I am presently away at a vacation-like event.)

Please try testing with: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/mc-mods/223803-morphadditions/files/2255893 and http://minecraft.curseforge.com/mc-mods/72503-origin/files/2255892 as soon as Curse approves them.
