it seems to be a problem with the specific pdf file, so most likely not a bug in my script closing this for now

reopening because it is now also the case for the lecture slides

the reason is that pdfinfo yields wrong width and height, the slides are a4 but horizontal, pdfinfo unfortuanetly yiles width and height as if it was vertical

solution was to use the python library pymupdf instead for retrieving the dimensions
