Snow doesn't form under leave blocks. So whenever seasons allows it to snow it won't place any snow blocks underneath any leaves. The fallowing is an example of a tree. It snows on top of the leaf blocks and doesn't place or drift any snow blocks beneath the tree. I think you could add something to fix this or if that doesn't work add snow drifts for both out in the open,under leaves, and under blocks but, isn't blocked by blocks trying to form. For example if it was blocked by it it would be a wall or a single block would block it. I suggest adding snow drifts and or adding some snow sheets to leak through the leaves so it will be realistic. Adding snow drifts is also on my official suggestion list I just thought I would make this separate So you could enhance this and add snow drifts later.
