While we're still working on the foundation of CrankShaft as a framework adding basic improvements SEO wise to the homepage of the documentation website will help with visibility.
As of this post, right now someone's fork of CrankShaft strangely is out-ranking the original in Google. I would honestly be okay with that, if it weren't for the fact the fork is an outdated version of the framework and does not offer anything on-top of what the older version of CrankShaft had. This is not the person who forked its fault, they did nothing wrong, so I'm not naming them.
I've submitted the documentation site to Google Search Console, in hopes that will help CrankShaft rank better.
SEO is important to the project continuing to gain momentum and awareness.
Some keywords that would be awesome for us to rank on:
HubSpot Framework
CrankShaft HubSpot
HubSpot Starter Theme
HubSpot Grid (obviously ranking below HubSpot's own pages)
HubSpot Bootstrap
HubSpot Foundation
While HubSpot Bootstrap and Foundation are not directly related, users searching for these terms are looking for a way to use these familiar frameworks on HubSpot, and may find our approach useful, especially since most people want these frameworks primarily for the grid.
One way to rank better is actually to be active in the HubSpot community itself, if the framework will solve a problem for developers on there it may be worth suggesting and linking back to the documentation site. Do not be spammy with this, do not be rude, only do this in a helpful manner and be clear about CrankShaft's stability(we're not at version 1 yet) so don't lie about it.
