as you've already seen, I wrote a Budgie Applet which uses this library. I'd be glad if you could add this cross-reference in the Readme.
Also, I repackaged the library on the AUR as cyrinux' build only includes the main script and installs it to /usr/bin, which is incompatible with library usage.
