It is possible that the .site-title:a color cannot be customized from within WP Customizer?

Hey there, actually that's a very good question. I hadn't thought of that, thanks for mentioning it. Right now its not possible as it isn't part of the customizer, but it soon will be. I will let you know when I have made that change ;)

I just added the ability to change the site title link and hover color via the customizer. It can be found in the Colors section of the customizer. Thanks for the input on this. I think it makes for an overall better experience :wink:
