Hi @RayNguyen
As I know, "Custom section" was created to be used as row (or something similar to row).
This is just my 2 cents, @rockalife can give you more details
Hi @moldcraft, We, developers know that, but sometimes end-users not. Moreover, we have to use columns all the time to fulfill a row, so why don't we add a row, then choosing how many columns we need, then choosing additional grid options such as: vertical dividers between columns, different grid gutter, etc ...
Hi @RayNguyen,
I'll try to explain why we did not make rows and other stuff in the builder.
The thing is that we want to make the Page Builder as simple as possible and reduce the number of things that need to be done for the end user to create a page. We as developers often tend forget that ordinary, non technical users may not know as much or may not know anything at all about layouts, grids or other stuff as we do. So this is why we do not impose them to first add a section, then a row, then a column, and in the end the shortcode that they wanted, we decided to generate all those for them when needed and thus leaving them with fewer things to do. I think that a simple user doesn't have to know that columns go into rows and rows go into sections, so if he wants to add a slider, or testimonials he just drops the shortcode into the builder, configures it's options and he's done.
I hope that you understood what I wanted to say.
Got it. Thank you very much @rockalife . And a big thanks to all the guys behind Unyson, you guys did a very good job !!
Thank you @RayNguyen for your kind words.
Hi @rockalife, Thanks for your hard work. I think "Row" feature should be added to Page Builder extension in the nearly future. You know, Bootstrap become very popular now, and we made a lot of websites based on it. Adding a row, then divide it into columns (like the way Visual Page Builder from Codecanyon did) is the perfect solution to build pages based on Bootstrap grid system. Sorry for my bad English, hope this makes sense, Thanks in advanced !
