ThierryHFR commented 2 years ago

What is the version of your extension?

XDM-Inc commented 2 years ago

v3.9 as the latest available on https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/4085/big-sur-status-area/

also tried latest version on here v41 (the about panel reports as version 99) same issue

I don't reproduce your problem! I don't have enough information! something in journalctl?

XDM-Inc commented 2 years ago

Maybe I have a corrupt config file maybe? Does this store configurations anywhere else beside in its own folder in the system? I have pop os. I also notice that the calendar slider in position in size when you cannot move or enable which is probably why I don't see the time and date. On the calendar indicator change date format under settings what is supposed to be in that text field originally?

ThierryHFR commented 2 years ago

I think you have a theme problem, for test, see if you can change it!

XDM-Inc commented 2 years ago

OK so it wasn't a theming error but some odd issue ( i worked around it for now and its the way i wanted it) •in the size and position menu when you move one up or down it ONLY moved the text and NOT the slider and its left or right orientation status. SO by moving it up and redoing the slider preference every time i move it up until eventually you get it to your desired location. •also left and center toggles don't seem to play nicely with the system preference choice. •calendar toggle does not work (at least with my pop os) as its merged with notifications so moving the notification in place of calendar works

I have a mistake indeed, I will look a little more! http://bigSur-StatusArea@ordissimo.com/indicators/notification.js:128:13

Nothing to see, it was my environment! I made some corrections but I'm not sure if it will impact your problem..

are you talking about the "env" environment? if so what was wrong also, i dont know if updates are pushed from here on github to extensions.gnome.org but some update came in either yesterday or day before from the native extensions and completely broke this plugin. (no icons worked and had a red so i decided to remove and rebuild from this source and now it "Works" BUT now its having odd issues toggling any indicators do not apply or save, when you close the panel all the sliders return. ( i checked the "org.gnome.shell.extensions.bigsur-statusarea.gschema.xml" and the compiles which i assume is the config for it and it seems to NOT been written to since installation. also trying to touch the up or down arrows to change the position all act like the reset button. the only way i was able to customize the status bar was to directly edit the gschemas.compiled file and then hit reset in the extensions panel to apply
