[Bug]: Try to use the app but it doesn't allow me to authenticate #1031

Duplicate Issues

What happened?

I successfully installed the .exe file and put in the 'client_secrets.json' in the same directory as the .exe file but then it won't allow me to authenticate to the app.

Release version

2.17.0

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install the .exe file.
  2. Add the 'client_secrets.json' file to the matching directory (The .json file is not the problem as it was working before without making edits and re-downloading the .json file doesn't work either).
  3. Open YTSpammerPurge.exe.
  4. Authenticate the allocated project with the appropriate account (also attempted with another separate email).
  5. Ignore the "Google hasn’t verified this app" warning saying "You’ve been given access to an app that’s currently being tested. You should only continue if you know the developer that invited you.".

What platform are you seeing this problem on?

Windows (.exe file)

Relevant log output

(N/A; no traceback error was ever received)

I think that's Google's error tbh.

What shall I do? It's been happening for a while now.

You could try authenticating via a different browser? Copy and paste the url into another one (or change your default but that seems more effort)

The Opera browser works.
