@TCEmkenn can you revise the example, unless you are gaslighting me, lol. Perhaps it was autoformatted—try wrapping your "The dog on NPR is dancing on the dog." example in the 'insert code' syntax (the <> button), it won't convert it to markdown and maybe that will show it better?
My first hunch is that it depends on how links are formatted in the particular section getting updated, but it's hard to say. Send me the particular piece you are editing with the markdown snippet and I'll see what's up.
Every time I add a comma after something with a hyperlink on the website, and resave the page, the comma will add an extra space after it. Do you know why this happens?
So it'll go from like:
"The dog on NPR is dancing on the dog."
And then when it's resaved it'll read:
"The dog on NPR is dancing on the dog."
