Not Working Additional Settings For Fusion Fix #139

Closed JakePhil closed 1 year ago

JakePhil commented 1 year ago

Hello! I encountered an issue where all of the added settings from FusionFix display the same options and don't work. I reinstalled the mod, and it didn't fix it. Does anybody know how to fix the menu and get it to work?

what version?

JakePhil commented 1 year ago

what version?

It should be the 1.0.7.0 version. That's what it says in the properties of GTAIV.exe. This is where I downloaded FusionFix (I used Automatic installation): https://github.com/ThirteenAG/GTAIV.EFLC.FusionFix

nonCE is not supported nor maintained here. Dude who did, ditched us and claimed its all working fine.

Weird. I will attempt a manual installation, as I am uncertain if any issues arose during the previous installation process.

Why delete the comment? Did I do something wrong by posting that?

JakePhil commented 1 year ago

I didn't delete it. You can comment again. Idk how it got deleted.

DeathWrench commented 1 year ago

It says the repository owner deleted it. Don't know why but, there's a fork of FusionFix for the nonCE version of the game. That's what the post contained was the link to it. If you click the forks tab here on the main repository link it should be the first one. image

Does this fix the issue above?

DeathWrench commented 1 year ago

That's why I posted it, which is odd that it got deleted. Some sort of beef I assume?

JakePhil commented 1 year ago

Would you send the link again, please?

DeathWrench commented 1 year ago

I think Console Gamma setting was bugged until I restarted the game a second time but yeah that version fixed most of the problems I was having. Just makes me wonder now why this fork of Fusion Fix is so infamous that my comment was deleted for posting it's existence. No mentions of there even being a separate version of this mod for the older versions of the game. Which would save a lot of people's time, and would've probably even saved this issue from being posted.

ThirteenAG commented 1 year ago

There is no Fusion Fix for anything but Complete Edition. Whatever you're trying to post links for is not official and not to be promoted here. If there's an official port to previous patches, it will be mentioned in the readme.

DeathWrench commented 1 year ago

That's kind of odd, don't you also make mods? Why would you prohibit information people need if they're running downgraded copies of the game, for what? Just because you don't like the older versions of the game? Modding is meant to be customize-able. Not everyone wants to play CE and someone has made a fork of this for the nonCE version of the game. You don't like the person who made the fork? Oh well, why should I have to suffer because you couldn't simply post the link to the said fork with something like, "if you're using the old version of the game use this instead." Boom problem solved. You keep deleting comments which are the solution to the problem. I don't know what the deal is, but c'mon man. All I have to do is google Zolika Beef and scroll down a bit, then we see what's really going on. You just don't like the guy who made the fork. It's fine. But why should me and OP have to suffer the brunt of it because of your negative opinion of someone? image source: https://gtaforums.com/topic/934545-fusionfix/page/19/ I honestly didn't care for this sort of drama. I came here to help OP with their problem because I was experiencing the same one. Having my comments deleted made me curious so I ended up finding all of this out. Either way. I think I'm gonna be uninstalling GTA IV. At this point, the game is far too old for people to still be acting this childish.

You want to download malware, be my guest, just don't post post links to it here. This fork as of recently violates our GPL-3.0 license, contributes nothing to the game, and doesn't even work. Anybody else is free to fork, pull request existing and new fixes and contribute to the game state. We will review, test and provide support. Uploading broken plugins under someone else's branding is not welcome.

Until an official(ly supported) backport of FusionFix to the older versions exist. With the only alternative being off brand malware, so be it, the malware it is. As for not contributing anything, from what I've tried the fork does work... though I can't really say for certain what does and doesn't work in comparison to this official version for CE. Since this official one seemingly doesn't work for the version of the game I'm trying to use it on. (1.0.7.0) My whole reason for even downgrading was to use these 2 mods primarily: https://gtaforums.com/topic/953517-reliv-gta-iv-first-person-mod-by-c06alt-legacy-v11-v122-v13-vr/ https://www.moddb.com/mods/realistic-driving-and-flying/downloads/realistic-driving-and-flying-eflc-13 I refuse to accept that I can't have both these 2 mods and Fusion Fix at the same time. I actually like GFWL too and earning achievements on that instead of Steam. CE is missing official multiplayer too and that ironically means it's not actually complete, even though I probably wouldn't use it, I'd still rather have it. Perhaps it's nostalgia but, there's already too many reasons for me to not even try CE and just immediately downgrade. Which, is actually an upgrade since the mods I'm trying to use actually work with it. I don't know exactly what GPL License term was broken by the fork, or what it is exactly you dislike about the author of the fork, the source is there on the github of that fork, so it could be reviewed. I don't think their intent is to upload broken plugins. Besides they are providing something you currently aren't. Which is a version of this mod that works with older versions. From the main repo it's 2 clicks to reach and I ended up finding it by accident just checking the forks, I recognized the name, realized what it was for, got it, posted it here after it fixed my problem. It was not my intention to promote something that was possibly malicious. The modding community is already divided enough by the actual versions of the game. We do not need the mod community further divided. You said it yourself, "Anybody else" as in, anybody except for them. I don't agree with that, feeding fire with fire shouldn't be done, is more like feeding a positive action with a negative one. Since imo, the fork is a good thing with the potential to be better, and help more people. People like myself who refuse to play on CE can still use this mod. So rather than tear them down a notch, maybe offer some fixes to the fork even perhaps. Make it official. Peace and love, not war. Humanity is better off that way. Break the cycle. Anyways, that's my two cents on the matter.
