I'm sorry to spam this much recently, but I run into another thing that I would suggest for your project. Some servers (especially the ESEA ones) force-change the nicknames of players to include a clantag. This will look like this:
It's obviously very difficult for the viewers to tell who bought which equipment etc like this. Furthermore it's just as hard for the caster to spot, since he can only figure out the number of the player by the position in the HUD (not the nickname) before a kill appears in the killfeed.
In my opinion this is not a bug of the HUD but misconfiguration of the servers/GOTVs (or maybe just an unfortunate idea of the admins, idk). Nevertheless I was thinking about how to get around this issue and would suggest to allow to force player names in playerInfo.ts for every Steam ID like this for example:
This way the nickname of the steam account would be forced to "c9 shroud" no matter what. An option like this could improve visibility as a lot of players are changing their nicknames quite often. On top of that it could also be used to prevent offensive names which is especially useful for tournaments and leagues where steam accounts are listed beforehand.
thank you for all the work you've put in so far and sorry for opening so many issues lately,
kind regards! :)
