And by "decent" I mean both fun for humans and also interesting for gauging AI strengths.
I'm debating whether to remove things like transports that start on neutral seaports (e.g. Shadows Chase and 2020), since that really messes with the AI. Or I guess I could build better AI.
Maps to remove:
Cage Match (Claustrophobic; only added because it was the first 4-player map)
Crater Isle (extremely one-sided; Could just modify I suppose, and maybe change the name)
Bean Island (Gets log-jammed too easily)
Maps to consider:
Asphalt Maze (tiny, fairly bland; FTA OP. Can help in diagnosing significant differences in AI/CO strength, so maybe keep).
Firing Range (Same as asphalt maze, but with slightly higher income and more mountains in the way).
Alakule (Odd start-location spacing, lots of mountains constrict battle lines).
Blizzard Battle (Actually the only reason I want to keep it is because there's a pathing issue that causes units to get stuck, and this map reproduces the issue consistently. After we fix that I'd say nuke this one)
Maps to keep/emulate:
Spann Island (OG Perfection)
Aria of War (Good balance of production/income buildings, enough space for strategic combat, terrain doesn't get in the way)
Blood on my Hands (Interesting start positions, lots of tactical options due to long battlefront and good income).
