Observed the same behavior when in a follower dungeon, all friendly nameplates were massive. Others were being handled by kUI Nameplates which rescaled them fine.
Thank you both for the report, will have a look asap. In the meantime, can you let me know:
I've only noticed it in Instanced Content with Friendly nameplates enabled. I always play with them that way, so not sure if it's unique to that or not. It happened every time I was in an instance. Beyond that, nothing of note was triggering it but it was consistent.
Thanks again, unfortunately I've not been able to trigger the bug myself so far. Does it happen immediately after joining an instance? Also if you get the chance, could you let me know what your blizzard name/nameplates settings are?
i've only used it out in world. noticed it effects friendly nameplates when turned on as peoii mentioned
I'm having the same exact issue with friendly name plates in dungeons only. I disabled addons one-by-one and the offender was definitely Fontmancer. Once again, this only occurs in dungeons with friendly nameplates. In all other circumstances where threatplates can take over for friendly nameplates it is not an issue.
Changing the font in fontmancer works, but is still just as large. Changing the density setting does nothing for the large names.
Ok I found something that seems to work. Not sure if the others above me are using Threat Plates, but I am, and this worked for me:
Open Threat Plates Options > Blizzard Settings (bottom left) > "Names" tab > Check the "Enable" box and tinker with the settings below it.
Reference screenshots below:
There is definitely some weird interaction between Fontmancer and Threat Plates
Thank you all for the additional info
I'm sorry to report that after messing with my addons & settings, I still haven't been able to figure out, or even see the issue myself. Clearly there must be some kind of cvar/setting that I'm missing
On the short term I will just add an extra option that disables the font manipulation for nameplates. I know it's not really a fix because that means the font on nameplates will be the default unfortunately and I apologise for that! You can expect that update tomorrow most likely
On the longer term though, I will leave the issue open and continue to look into it, so any kind of extra information that could help me track this down is appreciated! (for example, your list of cvars, do you have UI scaling enabled, etc)
reset some cvar stuff with advanced interface options. nothing
