Ostinato working with HP NC552SFP 10gb NIC? #111

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Using Wireshark I figured out which NIC on the system was the 10gb Port 2

2.Ran Ostinato, figured out which interface was the 10gb port 2 NIC and created
a stream

3.Applied the stream and then started it

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The switch at the other end did not receive any traffic. Running Wireshark on
the PC or starting a packet capture in Ostinato captures nothing.

However, Ostinato counters count like they are transmitting packets on the
interface.

We expected to see the defined MAC of the stream in the ARP cache of the
switch. We also expected to see the packets recorded in Wireshark.

What version and revision of the product are you using (available in the
About dialog)? On what operating system?

Version: 0.5.1 Revision: 74c9dcf830e3@

Please provide any additional information below.

Using Windows version on Microsoft Windows Server 2012. Firewall disabled and
can PING the switch at the other end in both directions.

* On the switch does the Rx interface counter increment? Any Rx errors being
displayed for the same port on the switch?

* On the windows host, does Wireshark capture normal packets on that interface
when Ostinato is not running?

* On the windows host, please capture the console logs and attach here from the
time you start the Ostinato application to the time you see Tx counters
increasing but no packets seem to go out. See
http://code.google.com/p/ostinato/wiki/FAQ#Q._How_do_I_see_debug_console_logs_on
_Windows_platforms? on how to capture console logs on windows.

We are currently running a test with Ostinato on 1gb ports. As soon as
that finishes I should be able to gather the requested information. Thank
you for your quick response!
