app vanished #289

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open chrome Version 39.0.2171.65 m
2. go to extensions
3. notice is is gone

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
app is there

On what operating system, browser and browser version?
chrome Version 39.0.2171.65 m (didn't happen with prior version) windows 8.1

Please provide any additional information below.

Same problem here. App vanished from extensions. It was still in the extensions 
folder, thus it did not vanish from the disk. Attempting to re-install the app 
from the chrome store resulted in the following error:
"There was a problem adding the item to Chrome. Please refresh the page and try 
again."

I suspect the problem is directly related to updating chrome to version 39. It 
worked as expected on version 38.
