Katherine made a great point that this will be heard to calculate mainly because of currencies - do we convert them all to GBP? If so, how we choose to convert them if we don't know the date they were paid. @KDuerden
Just adding this to hear if ever want to look at it.
Also - we run a high risk of double counting instances where grants are to regrant, etc
I think there are a few too many reasons to avoid this
NB: you can get this by a blank search :
.. which does in turn raise the same issues
The publishers with multiple currencies are putting the value in that currency at time of the award. GrantNav isn't making any change or converting, so a total of value of grants is not adding up apples and apples.. I have worked with one that had also captured the GBP amount (eg what it was at exchange rate at point of payment) but they ended up just putting all their grants in GBP as it was simpler. Quixote Fdn is all USD!
I agree that adding up the value is a real risk for double counting and currency reasons.

OK - we need to clarify that before anything else: https://github.com/OpenDataServices/grantnav/issues/387
To be considered again post regranting working group
We do display the total amount on the Quality Dashboard though https://qualitydashboard.threesixtygiving.org/alldata
