I really have no idea what I am doing with this mod. The suggested video is missing from curseforge and I can't find any current tutorial on how to use it. There really needs to be a super clear text description of what the working order is for setting this up.

  1. Craft X elevator blocks.
  2. Craft 2 or more control panels.
  3. Craft 1 controller.
  4. With X in hand left/right(?) click on X
  5. Now left/right click on Y.
  6. Now left/right click on Z. etc.

In the absence of this, I stumbled around, eventually just frantically clicking and left clicking on random parts of the flooring I wanted, the block in the middle of that floor, since that's kinda what the picture seems to say it should look like, and got a completely broken tile entity in my world that I can't break, or interact with in any way at all. There's no elevator, I disassembled it. So now I've got a single control panel on my wall that flickers, and I can't do anything with. Trying to break it in or out of creative does nothing. Clicking sticks everywhere broke the base, but the panel angrily remains on my wall refusing to do anything or allow me to remove it.

Also, maybe a panic command one can type to disassemble the nearest elevator/tileentity/anything, so server admins can recover. At this point I think I may need to rollback to a backup from hours earlier just to be able to remove this cursed block from my wall.

There is the book, it can explain elevator creation/destroying procedure. In same section, where is all mod related stuff.

Thutmose commented 6 years ago

shift right click it with a stick to turn it back into blocks

@Dushess: If there's a book, its existence isn't documented on any web site I could find. I'll look in JEI and see if it's there but I don't recall seeing it.

@Thutmose: Nope. That worked on the platform, but not on the bugged controller in the wall. Nothing would revert that to a block. I ended up having to stop the server and tear the entity out with MCEdit to un-bug my world. Trust me, I slapped that block with a stick every which way.

It seems like it's possible to make overlapping platforms, so you can have two elevators sharing a space if you offset them a little bit. I think I may have done that while struggling. As I ended up with two platforms and used the stick to remove both, but the second one was invisible and in a similar space to the first.

Ah, i get it, @dragonpaw , controller becomes glitchy and can be completly removed only via MCEdit. It's definately bug.

After that you can recreate controller and it will work as usual. Also, what caused this thing?

Thutmose commented 6 years ago

if you can find a reliable way to replicate this bug, I can get it fixed, I have not had it occur on my end

Dushess commented 6 years ago

Probably some operations with controller during elevator creation, caught it too one day, but forget all the details.

dragonpaw commented 6 years ago

It was definitely something I triggered by not knowing the right sequence of things to click on to create the elevator. I believe I may have accidentally created the elevator multiple times, or multiple elevators with overlapping blocks.

Thutmose commented 6 years ago

If you can figure out how to make it happen reliably, I can try to get it fixed, until then I can't replicate it, so can't know where to even start looking to fix it9
