@TiagoSantos81

Hello Tiago,

Take a look at: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126176

Is it possible for you to get involved in releasing both pre and post reform Portuguese spellers officially for LibreOffice 6.5 (Gerrit)?

Thanks!

Hi @marcoagpinto

After all this time, I have not introduced unintentionally errors while improving them, since so far nobody felt the need to correct errors on LanguageTool/LibreGrammar spellers. I would appreciate having them integrated, since this also saves me time and makes it easier for everyone to use them. LibreOffice locks pre-installed extensions and it is not a trivial process for end-users to work around that and install these extensions.

However, my past few experiences while contributing to LibreOffice were marred by developers nitpicking of code style or 'bug report' style, and generally being unhelpful (some, not all), instead of actually providing valuable inputs to improve and ease the integration of my commits. As such, I feel dissuaded on engaging with that community again, since I know I will lose more time with politics than actual production of the code/commit.

I know you are active within that community. I would be happy, if you commit the dictionaries and improved hyphenation tables (both without further changes) to gerrit/hunspell page. If needed, I can work with you to work out any kinks, as long as the debate is constructive and reasonable.

Regards

@TiagoSantos81 I can commit to Gerrit, but I don't have the knowledge to place two spellers in the same folder and configure what needs to be configured to make them work.

:-(

I have only been committing the autocorrect using the Gerrit site and the English spellers using the shell commands, but in the English spellers all I have to do is to replace the current ones with the new versions (all is configured by the administrators to make them work).

I don't have a clue on how to make two Portuguese spellers work in the same folder.

:-(

I know LibreOffice administrators are nitpicking at first, but it is only a matter of time until they accept people... It may take a year or more though for that to happen.

I have added a comment in the issue you mentioned that may help. If accepted, you only have to update the present resources with the versions in this project and add the remaining to pt-PO. Please, tell me when there are decisions/changes regarding this topic.
