Can someone help with converting the list of macros and functions in the README.md and index.md into two-column markdown tables (or tell us if this doesn't look good)?

I don't want to obscure the list behind a ??? in the documentation, which would mean that the user would need to click to see the full list. I just think we can show it in a more compact way.
