XINC pear channel doesn't work

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to install xinc via Pear channel

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Insertion into  PHP Command line
# pear channel-discover pear.xinc.eu
throws :
Discovering channel pear.xinc.eu over http:// failed with message: channel-
add:
Cannot open "http://pear.xinc.eu/channel.xml" (File 
http://pear.xinc.eu:80/chann
el.xml not valid (received: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found
