mouse cursor incorrectly scaled on hidpi Windows system #393

Open skoehler opened 7 years ago

skoehler commented 7 years ago

I'm using vncviewer 1.7.0 on a hidpi windows system. The remote screen is scaled nicely, however, the mouse cursor is tiny. Please scale the mouse cursor as well.

Any progress here? More than 4 years later this issue still exist...

CendioOssman commented 3 years ago

Unfortunately I don't think anyone is working on this, no. It should probably also be reported to @FLTK as that's what TigerVNC uses to handle the cursros.

Some additional info:

  1. Cendio Thinlinc (which is probably the upstream of TigerVNC) has this issue, too.
  2. Up to now TigerVNC do not support native HiDPI on Windows, users can only use system DPI scale to solve HiDPI issues. For most situations this is not a critical issue, because high resolution VNC trasmittion is useless and consume lots of bandwidth. But this may influence mouse cursor scale issue descripted here.

Still is not usable mouse with scalling. Is there any workaround ?!

romanrm commented 1 year ago

@olodar RealVNC (just tested 7.0.1) can both scale the session and has proper local cursor scaling.
