entypo: Some icons are not displayed correctly #40

Open TimPietrusky opened 11 years ago

TimPietrusky commented 11 years ago

Some entypo icons are displayed as questions marks in boxes.

@TODO: Find the problem.

I experienced this on an Android Phone (Android 4 Browser) lately.

gabestev commented 11 years ago

me too, on my latest firefox -> entypo and font awesome, im running on win 7

livingos commented 11 years ago

Happening on Android for me too. Any ideas how to fix this?

I think it's because WLIF's version of the font is too old. I would have replaced it, but they splitted the icon sets & there is no CSS for every icon.

So there are some things do be done:

  1. Merge entypo and entypo social from entypo.com into one icon font
  2. Merge the entypo CSS from WLIF with entypo's character map

Someone? :D

I have seen this problem when I copy/paste the CSS file in TextMate. Instead I started moving the file and edit using vi. search icon is an example which was missing. It turned into a [] icon.

The problem is in the original entypo font files. Some of the chars can't be displayed on some devices.

The only solution: Use a tool to change the character code for every icon based on the Private Use Areas.
