Add beaver dams to 3-4 creeks #33

One of the main industries in New Amsterdam was beaver pelt trade. Beaver flourished in Manhattan before the Dutch came. Would be cool to have 3-4 of our Manhattan creeks dammed up by beavers. Add at least one on the creek that flows out the southern tip.

In order to accurately reflect Manhattan's ecology in 1609, we need to integrate the presence of beaver dams into the 3D model. Here's a brief set of instructions for this task:

  1. Research Beaver Dams: Familiarize yourself with the structure and appearance of beaver dams. They're typically constructed from timber and mud and can vary in size.
  2. Select Locations: Pick 3-4 creeks out of the 10-15 in the model to place the beaver dams. Consider choosing creeks that appear suitable for beaver habitation, such as those with slower-moving water and nearby trees.
  3. Design Beaver Dams: Create the beaver dam assets. Ensure they appear natural and blend well with the surrounding terrain. Be aware that these dams would affect the flow of the creek, creating a pond-like area upstream.
  4. Place Beaver Dams in Unreal Engine: Import the beaver dam assets into Unreal Engine and place them in the selected creek locations. Remember, the dams should appear as if they're interrupting the water flow.
  5. Adjust Surrounding Terrain and Water Flow: Modify the terrain around the dams to reflect the impact of their construction, such as water pooling behind the dam, and adjust the water flow accordingly.
  6. Test and Refine: Test the model to ensure the dams look realistic and do not cause any issues with the model's performance. Refine as necessary until the dams are seamlessly integrated.

Remember to keep your design accurate to the era, and feel free to ask any questions if you need further clarification.
