We need to rethink the implementation of the Beam Discover user interface. This was made clear by insights that were gathered over the last few months and the Beam Discover meeting that was held last week (meeting notes).

I really like the implementation of recommendations in Pinterest. It has explanations for when recommendations were generated, and even allows you to browse old recommendations.

I replaced the explanation in the current implementation with the description of the subreddit. This will help the user make a more informed decision whether or not (s)he would like the subreddit.

The post previews were designed for pictures. But a lot of content on Reddit exists from solely a link or text. We need to design a preview for these content types as well.
