Eurotronic - Spirit device is not supported #7

Currently, I think this is one of the best thermostat devices on the market. But OpenZwave has some troubles with it. See this issue here: https://github.com/OpenZWave/open-zwave/issues/1340

I am currently on it to test this device with the unstable version of OpenZWave.

The Spirit seems to be much better than the Danfoss device because with this device its possible to get feedback also for the measured temperature.

Only setting of temperature is not supported yet. :) Because of this OpenZwave issue themselves.

Hopefully, this is fixed as soon as possible.

Now got the Eurotronic Spirit running. Not so easy as expected. What is need is the current dev branch from open-zwave Then adding the Eurotronic config to the config section of open-zwave and then make && make install.

Afterwards, a restart of pimatic should help you. Now, these devices are running really good.

Nice work. Do you know if the other devices break when updating to the development branch? If not, maybe we should do that

The other devices I have still work. :) Now the dev branch also contains the xml config file. Sure we can mention that the eurotronic spirit device is working when the dev branch is installed.

We could add here to our readme also the installation remarks of z-wave lib.

Not yet. Installed everything new on my rasbian in September... and running again into these issues. So need to install the z-wave lib from Dev Branch again to get the device running. :(

installed the latest snapshot with version 1.4.3309 and installed it (with make && make install) http://old.openzwave.com/snapshots/

Not the eurotronic spirit-z is available as devices without any issues yet.

in master branch it is also already included. not only in dev branch. But in latest stable it is still not included. So still need for latest snapshort instead of stable

Hello to all !!! I need to change some Danfoss due to repeated failure. Can someone confirm if Spirit is working in OZW1.6 master branch before i buy them ?

Hi @candrea77 I'm not using Pimatic anymore. Not sure if this plugin is still actively used either.

I am still using it. And I have the Spirit in use. But I am not sure with which OZW version. But still using 1.4.3309

Sorry, my fault. I thought I was on OpenZWave/open-zwave wich branch master is on version 1.6!!!
