[SUGGESTION] -Wont get you banned? #28

Clarification, will using this app get you banned, that this map does follows the latest NW guidelines? and that EAC will not see the OCR as a problem and the player using this map, is possibly botting? https://forums.newworld.com/t/banned-for-a-mini-map/526345/48

There's a chance you could get banned, but I'd say it's pretty slim.

I highly doubt that they'd take the time to implement detection for something like this, it would be a complete waste of time and resources, not to mention, there's a huge bot problem in the game, most of which just use macros which run along the exact same path everytime. As far as I know, they're not even being banned, so i'd be very surprised if this were to get you banned.

That said, it's against the terms of use. Don't use it unless you're comfortable with the potential small chance of being banned. In my eyes it's a no brainer, since I find the game unplayable without this, i'd rather use this and possibly be banned, than not play the game because they couldn't be bothered to implement a minimap.

Edit: I'm not certain this would change anything, but if you're really cautious you could rename the exe and the data folder (the data folder will need to be the name of the exe followed by '_Data'). Example: ergjerjgej.exe / ergjerjgej_Data. If they were to implement detection, the absolute easiest way would probably be to scan for names of running executables on your system. Changing the exe name like this avoids that.
