Tiro Tamil glyph order has been based to-date on Unicode order, which does not reflect standard Tamil alphabet order. In a recent round of revisions, the order of glyphs in the Tiro Gumukhi font was revised to follow Punjabi alphabet order, and the same should be done for Tamil.
Since GID order is exposed in some user interfaces—notably Adobe glyph palettes—, such reordering is a service to native users of the script. Revised order of Tamil consonants would be
