Virtual advertising is a technology that lets sports industries to get an advantage of the existing perimeter boards and to tailor messages and campaigns directly to users based on their account profiles, online behavior and preferences.
The technology provides the following advantages:
Virtual replacement of existing billboard ads in video feed
Any stadium/ physical surface can be used as ads placement
We will explore the concept of replacing the existing perimeter boards with the virtual ads insertions in the sports event videos. As an example we will use tennis frontal ads billboard.
we will present the concept of Virtual Advertising in sports media
we will describe the CV pipeline to detect the ads banner and replace it in video with the virtual one. The pipeline consist in the following steps
