Please check cables??? #530

1.plug in brand new apm 2.5 in computer with mission planner set up followed to 
the teeth.
2.hit upload firmware quadcopter
3.apm not detected check cables

i am on windows 7 32bit and have tryed on 64 bit aswell.
Computer reconizes apm.
I just recived this apm2.5  fully assembled in its black case.

what do i do?
