Removing the extention files does not "unlock" locked items. #23

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install extension, feature are locked and items set.
2. Close Firefox and delete extension.
3. Restart Firefox locked items are still locked.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
With v1.2.x if you removed the files from the extensions dir everything would
unlock that was restricted by CCK ie.about:config.

Please provide any additional information below.
lthough not something that was used often this allowed our support personal to
make changes to items that were locked by CCK if required. They then just
re-ran the application we user to install CCK to lock the machine back down.
I notice with 1.3 this does not seem to work. Removing CCK makes no difference.
This may be a side affect of dealing with settings not being persistent.

That's really interesting. I removed the code that unlocked the preferences
upon uninstall because it seemed unnecessary since clearly the prefs weren't
staying locked between invocations anwyay.

Weird.

I'll put it back.

Sorry how do you mean uninstall? In our case we simply delete the contents of
the CCK extension folder. I take it that is what you mean?

No, actually I unlocked the preferences when the browser was closed. Lock on
open, unlock on close.

That way your scenario will work.
