I propose that future releases should explore the space of possible software versioning schemes, just to make sure we haven't missed something that might be even better than Gödel-semver or randint() % 4. Other options include:

• Peano arithmetic, i.e. 0 is 0, 1 is S(0), 2 is S(S(0)), etc.
• Extending semver into the complex plane; 4.1.(4 + 7i).
• Version numbers with units, such as radians. Or for unusually exciting releases, megaton of TNT yield equivalent.
• Foregoing a version number, when no progress has been made, but a release was mandated by management for administrative reasons.
