Hi,
Syncless sometime unable to detect drive change due to some limitation. We are looking
into ways to solve this problem. One of our possible solution is for Syncless
to have a
"refresh" button to detect drive change in case Syncless fails to detect it =).
Sorry
for the inconvience. We welcome any suggestion to the problem.

I don't have any C# experience, but I did find this:

Useful?

Hi,
on my system this issue seems to be even worse. It happened the second time
now: I start the notebook (WinXP, Syncless 2.1) as always, with external drive
("K") plugged in, and Syncless DOES list K, when I click on "unmonitor", so it
seems to recognize the drive. However, only the tags for the harddisk of the
notebook itself have survived - all the tags for the external drive K are gone.
Restarting the notebook does not change this.
If this problem persists, I have to add all the tags again and again.
Cheers, Ch.

hi , i will try to reproduce this bug again on my comp. However, is it possible
to help me with the following.
1) check the debug.log at the syncless log folder and if possible, upload the
debug log here.
2)repeat what you have done, and after encountering the disappearance , check
the .syncless folder(it is hidden) of your hard disk(both notebook and hdd) and
upload both tagging.xml(indicating which folder has disappear). If you have
sensitive information in the files , please replace them with "xxxxxxx". if
there are more than 1, put a number after the x (i.e xxxxx1) to uniquely
identity each sensitive data.

Hi, I have attached two debug logs, because I found one on the external disk
and one on the notebook. Could that even be an explanation for the problem? I
did not find any indications where to best put the Syncless files.
All the tags beginning with "Sync mit Syncless" (that's the folder on the
external hdd) have been deleted, only the corresponding tags referring to
partition C and D of the notebook are left.
If you need any more information, please tell me.
Thanks! Ch.

I found at least one reason for said problem: When I connect my iPod Touch to
the computer, it seems to temporarily sever or rearrange connections with
external drives. Syncless then crashes after a short Windows announcement. As
often, Apple's territorial behavior is extremely annoying.
I am not sure if this is an explanation for all incidents of this kind.
Tschüss, Ch.

definately the ipod touch problem. What syncless does is it will attempt to
read from all the devices again when there is device change. Apple stop
syncless from doing that and thus crash syncless.
